The Flash Poster Teases A Very Familiar Batman Logo
The Flash has not had the smoothest of rides toward cinemas, to say the least. First there were pandemic-related delays, and then the ongoing allegations against its star, Ezra Miller – which have yet to be resolved – broke, followed by confusion over what universe exactly it’s taking place in as we head towards James Gunn’s DC Universe reset. But, as his announcement made clear, The Flash is going to be pivotal to launching the new era of DC, and now fans who’ve been hanging on for something – anything – to get hyped about have finally got what they wanted.

A new teaser poster has given us sight of the Batman logo for the first time ahead of a big trailer drop during the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Now, not to go a little Robert Pattinson Batman and get our sleuth on for a second here, but this logo hanging from the Batcave looks a lot like the sharp-winged logo which Michael Keaton’s Batman used while he was playing the Caped Crusader. Rumours had abounded that Keaton’s role was being cut – or, at least, that his Bat-wings were being clipped and his role shrunk – but such a prominent clue would suggest that whatever has happened, he’ll still be prominent. (And – let us engage our Christian Bale Batman X-ray specs a second, hang on – that Batcave looks very, very reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s Bat-era. Could there be yet another era of Batman lurking in the shadows providing the cameo that Gotham deserves, and also the one it needs right now?)

Perhaps pause before you get your spelunking gear out. There are a lot of Batpeople about at the minute. You’ve got R-Batz, for one. Keaton’s Batman was slated to appear in the suddenly-canned Batgirl, and only a couple of weeks ago, Gunn announced that a fresh Bat is coming in Batman: The Brave And The Bold, working from Grant Morrison’s comics.
