Edward Maya

Eduard Marian Ilie (born 29 June 1986), sometimes known as Edward Maya, is a Romanian musician, record producer, DJ, vocalist, and composer. He is best known for his 2009 blockbuster hit track "Stereo Love".

Career

Maya collaborated with other Romanian artists in and around 2006, including Akcent and Vika Jigulina. He also collaborated on the song Tornerò, performed by Mihai Trăistariu in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. In an interview with Beat-Town.com, he noted that this song "was the beginning of my career"

Maya released his first song as an artist, "Stereo Love," in the summer of 2009, and it peaked at number two on the Romanian singles charts. Later that year, "Stereo Love" became an international club hit. While this success was followed by concerts around the world, the song reached the top five singles charts in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. "Stereo Love" had over 539 million YouTube views as of November 2022.
